And, the canning begins.......
Yesterday officially began canning season around the Henson place.
I canned 10 quarts of Blue Lake bush beans from our garden. I love preserving
these delicious green beans for my family to have throughout the winter. Canning
itself is not hard to do, but the process is of it all is long and tiring. In my opinion,
it is worth every tiring minute.
We usually get a wonderful green bean harvest every year. Sadly, we didn't get a single one this year. We left for vacation for 10 days and it didn't rain once ounce while we were gone :( We had someone coming by, but something happened which really limited the time she had to spend here each day so only the animals were fed. We came back to a pretty much dead garden and the nastiest cat little box I had ever seen in my life. There's more, but I'll stop...lol! I missed not having and green beans this year. Glad to see yours have done so well. Fresh beans are sooo yummy! Hope you guys are doing well :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! We picked another 5 gallons. I will have enough to can another 10 qts hopefully. Not as much as normal, but thankful for what we got. Sorry about your disasters. We are doing well. Waiting on Dr. appts. :)
